English, as the global language of business, technology, and culture, is at the heart of this transformation. Our mission is to equip students with the advanced communication tools and critical thinking skills they need to thrive in any field. With our Interactive Communication Skills (ICS) lab and a curriculum designed to enhance both language proficiency and lifelong learning, we prepare our students for the world beyond the classroom.

We are proud to offer specialised programs, including Cambridge B2 and C1 Advanced courses, to ensure our students are industry-ready and globally competitive. The department serves students from diverse disciplines, including B.Tech, BBA, B.Com, MBA, B.Sc, and the School of Agricultural Sciences. Our courses are tailored to holistically develop students' abilities, ensuring they not only master the English language but also apply it effectively in real-world contexts.

Beyond academics, our department actively engages students in extracurricular activities such as literary clubs, essay writing competitions, public speaking, group discussions, and TEDx events. These opportunities foster creativity, leadership, and personal growth. Additionally, our two computer labs and ICS lab are equipped with cutting-edge technology to hone our students’ communication skills through interactive learning experiences.

On a personal note, my vision for the Department of English extends beyond traditional boundaries. I aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the university and establish a Centre of Excellence for Communication and Life Skills. This centre will provide a space where students can develop not only as scholars but also as confident, well-rounded individuals ready to face the challenges of a globalised world. I also see our department as a bridge, connecting various disciplines through the power of language and communication, contributing to the broader intellectual and social life of the university.

My goal is to make this department not just a place of learning but a space where each student’s journey is personalised, enriched, and inspiring.
