LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT:


The Department of English has a special position amidst the student community for the initiatives it takes to promote the Communication Skills, Soft skills and Personality development to the students through the activities outside the curriculum. Some of them are Creative Writing Contest, MRU best Speaker Contest, and Spell Bee Competition. In addition to this the department supports English literary Club, Entrepreneurship Development Cell where communication skills play a vital role. It also assists the placement cell in preparing the students for University placements.


The department keeps organizing faculty development programs for the faculties working in various engineering colleges. A Battery of programs has been organized through language club – either in online or off line mode, which helps the students in obtaining effective communication skills.


FOCUS AREA:

The department conducts need based training programs in English and Foreign Languages for the Freshman Engineering with professional experts from the premier institutions like EFLU, British Council, and Central University. A special attention to be paid to the students of rural background in order to improve their communication skills.
